Bluegrass returns to Grottoes

GROTTOES — The 31st annual Bluegrass in the Park music festival will be held from Sept. 8-10 at Grand Caverns Park.

This is the sixth year that Shriners groups from Waynesboro, Harrisonburg and Luray are hosting the festival.

The Shriners donate all net proceeds to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, which has 22 hospitals across the U.S.

Hours for the festival are noon to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday.

Bands that will play include: Little Mountain Boys, Remington Ryde, Kody Norris and the Watauga Mountain Boys, and Highland Grass on Thursday; Josh Grigsby and County Line, Goldwing Express, Reno & Harrell, Davis/Bradley Band, and Page County Ramblers on Friday; Sweet Yonder, Mark Templeton & Pocket Change, Kevin Church & the Travelers, Clark Shifflett & Code of the Hills, and the Little Roy & Lizzie Show on Saturday.

Food and beverages will be for sale. No alcoholic beverages are allowed.

Tickets are $30 per day or $60 for all three days. Children ages 13-17 are half price with a paying adult. Children 12 and under get in free.

Rough camping is available for the week for $25.

The event will be held rain or shine. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

No electrical, sewer or water hookups are available, but campers can shower at the pool bathhouse.
