Cause of RSW inmate’s death still unclear

FRONT ROYAL — The cause and manner of a Strasburg man's death remains undetermined pending autopsy, the Virginia Medical Examinerís Office in Manassas said Wednesday.

The Warren County Sheriffís Office is still investigating the death of Brendan Garrett Sullins, 26, of Strasburg, while he was in custody at the Rappahannock-Shenandoah-Warren Regional Jail.

Sullins died Saturday afternoon, Jail Superintendent William Wilson said in a news release issued Monday.

Sullins was arrested Feb. 10 by Front Royal police on a charge of narcotics possession, Wilson's release said. Town police this week had no further information about the arrest other than it was executed by the members of the Northwest Virginia Drug Task Force.

Sullins was ordered held without bond, Wilson said.

Staff at the medical examinerís office said no further information was available.
