Styx pulls out of county fair

The Shenandoah Valley-Herald

WOODSTOCK — Styx will no longer perform at the Shenandoah County Fair in August.

The fair association announced the rock band’s cancellation “due to unforeseen circumstances” in a press release on Friday morning. General Manager Tom Eshelman declined to say why the near-sellout show will not go on.

Tickets went on sale on Monday. All ticket buyers were told of the cancellation on Thursday, the press release said, and all refunds have been posted.

Styx had been scheduled to perform on Sept. 1. The fair association is working on finding a replacement act for that date, the release said.

The fair hopes to reschedule Styx during the 2018 fair, the release said.
