FRONT ROYAL — Downtown will come alive with wine, crafts, music and food as the town celebrates the 30th annual Wine and Craft Festival this weekend.

Front Royal-Warren County Chamber of Commerce President Nikki Foster said about 12,000 people usually attend the festival and it is the chamberís biggest fundraiser of the year.

"From a planning perspective and from an attendance perspective, it is our biggest event of the year," Foster said.

The festival will stretch from the Warren County Courthouse to the visitorís center on Main Street and from the gazebo to Crescent Street on Chester Street from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.

Representatives from 17 Virginia wineries will offer tastings. The festival also will feature about 15 food vendors and 150 artisans and crafters from throughout the East Coast, Foster said. There will also be music all day at the gazebo, the Warren County Courthouse and on Chester Street.

Foster said there would be a wide variety of food available and local food trucks.

"Anytime that you can get nearly 20 Virginia wineries in one area, it's a good place to come to because Virginia has some of the best wine in the country," Foster said.

She said there would be "lots of fun stuff" and activities for everybody to enjoy. She added people should come to the festival because there will be a lively and enjoyable atmosphere.

"Downtown is beautiful, the gazebo area is astounding. With all the different entertainment acts that we're going to have it just makes for a really good day — It's a nice place to bring the family and hang out and have some quality time together," Foster said.

For attendees who wish to wine test, tickets can be ordered for $25, or purchased at the gate for $30. There is no general admission fee. Foster said the money raised funds all of the chamberís projects and programs.
