FRONT ROYAL — A Front Royal woman Monday was struck and killed by a vehicle, according to a Front Royal Police Department news release. This marked the second time in two weeks that a pedestrian was killed by a vehicle.

Upon officerís arrival, they found Suggate lying on the ground, the release said. She was transported to Warren Memorial Hospital and was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Michael Fletcher, 49, of Front Royal, was identified as the driver.

Fletcher turned left onto Shenandoah Avenue off West 14th Street and was approaching the Relax Inn when he struck Suggate, the release said.

Weather conditions and the fact that Suggate was not utilizing a crosswalk played significant roles in the incident, the release said.
