Shenandoah National Park Plans Prescribed Burn
Shenandoah National Park Fire Managers plan to burn 500 acres in the park’s south district sometime between March 15 and April 30. The burn area is located west of Jarman Gap and northeast of Waynesboro, Virginia.

Front Royal council to try again on moving town elections through ordinance
The struggle to move the Front Royal town elections from May to November — in motion since 2010 — is not over yet, though it is still not clear if the shift will ever take place. At a work session last week, Vice Mayor Shae Parker made a request that an ordinance be drafted with the same language that was in the proposed charter that failed in the Virginia House of Delegates earlier this month and brought forward for a public hearing before council. Town Manager Steve Burke said Wednesday that the hearing would most likely be in March.
