William H. Eberhardt Sr.

William Henry Eberhardt Sr., 75, of Front Royal, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015 at Warren Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Eberhardt was born Nov.18, 1940 in Richmond, son of the late Mildred Eberhardt.

He was a resident of Front Royal since 1998 and he retired from Subway Restaurant in Front Royal as a manager.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Rita Eberhardt of Front Royal; three children, Robert Alexander Eberhardt of Front Royal, Egypt Flores Eberhardt and Nekia Henry Eberhardt, both of Washington, D.C.; and one brother, Eugene Eberhardt of Maryland.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 6, at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 W. Main St.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross Warren County Chapter, 201 Polk Ave., Front Royal, VA 22630.

Edward P. Heinemann

Edward P. Heinemann, 89, of Frederick County, died Friday, Jan. 1, 2016 in Winchester Medical Center.

Mr. Heinemann was born in 1926, in Buffalo, N.Y., the son of the late Oscar and Hilda Hanewinckel Heinemann.

He was a graduate of Colgate University receiving a bachelorís degree in math. He retired from General Electric.

Mr. Heinemann was a lifelong Lutheran.

Mr. Heinemann married Karleen Bjork on Feb. 2, 1947, in Manlius, N.Y.

Surviving with his wife are his son, Charles Heinemann and his wife Marilyn of Stephens City; two daughters, Karleen Escobar and her husband Carlos of Stephens City and Beth Smith and her husband Walter of Wakefield, Mass.; sister, Dorothy Heinemann of Berryville; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren as well as extended family members and close friends.

Mr. Heinemann was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Steffan, and brother, Robert Heinemann.

Josephine McGolerick

Josephine McGolerick, 88, passed away on Jan. 2, 2016.

She was preceded in death by Woodrow Wilson McGolerick.

She is survived by her son Wilson McGolerick of Front Royal, daughter Joanna McCall and her husband Samuel L. McCall III of Winchester.
Josephine was a member of Hayfield Assembly Church.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at Shenandoah Memorial Park, with Pastor Don Stotler of Hayfield Assembly Church officiating.

Robert T. Nowell

Robert Thomas "Tommy" Nowell, 48, of Front Royal, passed away on Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital in Woodstock.

The family will receive friends on from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Maddox Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. at Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Tommy was born April 12, 1967, in Front Royal, son of the late Ralph Winton Nowell and Peggy Joyce Thomas Nowell.

Surviving are two children, Carolyn Nowell of Edinburg and Thomas Nowell of Front Royal; three brothers, David Rickie Nowell, Ralph Michael Nowell and Stephen Ray Nowell, all of Front Royal; and four grandchildren, Braydon Hermes, Kierstin Hermes, Cameron Hermes, and Brantley Budd.

Patricia A. Sirk

Patricia Ann (Anderson) Sirk, 77, of Winchester, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016, at Winchester Medical Center.

Patricia was born in 1938, the daughter of the late Edward N. Anderson and Hattie M. Anderson, in Winchester.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to cook and was a meticulous housekeeper and homemaker. She enjoyed entertaining company, which included many childhood best friends that she maintained contact with into her later years. Her last and dearest friend was Liz Betty Davis.

Mrs. Sirk married Paul D. Sirk on Aug. 16, 1958, in Winchester.

Surviving with her husband are her two daughters, Sharon D. Whitacre (Gary), of White Post, Virginia and Linda J. Snow (Paul), of Berryville; her three grandchildren, Bradley S. Whitacre, of White Post, Lori A. Drake (Mark), of Stephens City, and Troy A. Snow, of Berryville; her nephew, Morris Shanholtz, of Winchester; and her brother, Ronald Bowers (Lucille), of Stephens City.

Patricia was preceded in death by her son, Paul A. Sirk.

A committal service was conducted Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016, at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel, Winchester, with celebrant Timothy Grum officiating. Interment was in Shenandoah Memorial Park.

David S. Smelser

David Simon Smelser, 75, of Frederick County, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, in Washington Hospital.

Mr. Smelser was born in 1940 in Flint Hill, the son of the late Pete and Helen Smelser.

He was retired, having worked for the sanitation department.

David was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He will be forever remembered for his love of John Deere tractors, woodworking and tinkering in his garage.

He was an exceptional caring man who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Smelser married Rachel C. Miller on Nov. 7, 1989, in Strasburg.

Surviving with his wife are stepdaughter Sharon Bailey of South Carolina; stepsons Kevin D. Miller of Winchester and Willis H. Miller Jr. and his wife Patricia of Montgomery, Ala.; five step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Mr. Smelser was one of 14 children and was preceded in death by four brothers.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel, Winchester. A funeral service will follow. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County.

B. Scott Timmons

Brian "Scott" Timmons, 51, of Frederick County, died Friday, Jan. 1, 2016, in University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville.

Mr. Timmons was born in 1964 in Arlington, the son of Jessie Cockrell Timmons and the late Charles C. Timmons. He attended Warren County High School and was an administrative assistant at Winchester Imaging.

After sharing his life together with Jerome M. Smith for 19 years, they were married on Oct. 7, 2014, in Winchester. He was loved by all and will be missed by many.

Surviving with his husband and mother are sisters, Sharon T. Longmire (Mike) of Front Royal and Dana Timmons-Slaven (Jeff) of Weyers Cave; niece, Megan Longmire-LaConia (Scott); nephew, Joshua Longmire (Jacque), four aunts and a caring extended family.

Scott was preceded in death by his father, Charles C. Timmons, in 2011.

All services will be private; arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, Winchester.

Charles K. Wagner

Charles Kenneth Wagner, 86, of Front Royal, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016 at Warren Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. today at Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Wagner was born in McClure, Pa., on Jan. 5, 1929, a son of the late Charles F. and Gertrude Weader Wagner.

He was the vice president for engineering and maintenance at Avtex Fibers. He had been a member of the Lions and Kiwanis clubs. He enjoyed collecting movies and was Baptist by faith.

Mr. Wagner is survived by his son, Richard Wagner (Louisa) of West Chester, Ohio; his daughters, Barbara Koerner (Peter) of North Carolina, Susan DeHart (Tony) of Radford, and Linda Linger of Front Royal; his grandchildren, Jared Wagner (Cara), Alaina Wagner, Sarah Koerner, Matt DeHart, Andrew DeHart, Brian Linger (Anzie), Heather Wilson (Drew), Amanda Bass (Nick) and Kevin Linger; and his great-grandchildren, Noah Wagner, Ava Wagner, Caitlyn Wagner, Emma Wagner, Avery Bass, Caroline Wilson and Patrick Linger.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Wagner was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn June Wagner, in 2011; and his sister, Maye Wertz.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Jared Wagner, Matt DeHart, Andrew DeHart, Brian Linger, Drew Wilson, Nick Bass and Kevin Linger.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to the American Diabetes Association , P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
