Gregory N. Bagen


Gregory Norman Bagen, 61, of Front Royal, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016 at his home.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home, 1200 N. Shenandoah Ave., Front Royal.

Greg was born in Quincy, Mass., on May 26, 1954, a son of John N. and Phyllis Paluzzi Bagen.

He was a heavy equipment operator for Demolition Services of Manassas.

He enjoyed tinkering with motorcycles and cars. He was a member of Helltown Cruisers in Front Royal. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and Chevys.

In addition to his parents, Greg is survived by his fiance, Wilma Flintstone; his sons, Greg W. Bagen of Boston and Jack J. Bagen of Weymouth, Mass.; his daughter, Sabrina Nasios of Holliston, Mass.; his brothers, John F. Bagen (Linda) of Quincy and Richard J. Bagen (Kathleen) of Weymouth; his sisters, Patricia Finocchio (Nicholas) of Raynham, Mass. and Lisa Sears (Donald) of South Yarmouth, Mass.; and four grandchildren, James McIntyre, William Nasios, Bradley McIntyre and Gage Bagen.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Autism Society of America, 4340 East-West Highway, Suite 350, Bethesda, MD 20814.



Donnie R. Griffith


Donnie Ray Griffith, 62, of Front Royal, passed away Monday, Feb. 8, 2016 in his home.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 W. Main St., with Pastor Cecilio Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Bennetts Chapel Cemetery.

Donnie was born Oct. 27, 1953, in Richlands, the son of the late Robert Cecil Griffith and Thelma Ernestine Layne Griffith.

Donnie is survived by two daughters, Meshell Willingham of Front Royal and Dawn Griffith of Strasburg; a brother, Gary Griffith of Mineral, and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Griffith, a brother, Darrell Griffith, a sister, Shelly James, and a grandson, Anthony Rush.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.



Ophelia H. Holliday


Ophelia "Fee" H. Holliday, 84, of Front Royal passed away peacefully Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016 at Amerisist of Front Royal.

Fee was born Oct. 6, 1931, to the late Dalton and Grace Hall.

She was the wife of the late William F. Holliday.

Fee and Bill Holliday owned and operated a duplicate bridge club in Miami for 20 years and also ran and directed duplicate bridge in Front Royal Youth Center for 25 years. She was a life master in bridge.

Fee also did some charity work in both Florida and Front Royal.

Survivors include her three stepchildren, John Ward Holliday of Dallas, William Scott Holliday of California and Kate H. Parades of Dallas; five brothers, Francis D. Hall of Front Royal, Delano R. Hall of Leonardtown, Md., Gene S. Hall of Lakeland, Fla., James H. Hall of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Ray W. Hall of Winchester; three sisters, Adelaide C. Siegel of Alexandria, Susan A. Bayens of St. Louis and Mary Ruth Wenner of Middletown, Del.

Fee will be cremated and services will be held at a later date.

James E. Huttar


James Edward Huttar, "Jim," of Front Royal, died unexpectedly on Feb. 4, 2016. He was 77 years old.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15, the Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home, 1200 N. Shenandoah Ave., Front Royal.

Jim led a dynamic and creative life as a leader in the corporate world with Corning Glass Works, with the Peace Corps as a director in Micronesia, at Cornell University in labor and industrial relations, on Wall Street in the financial world, in Tunisia as director of the International Executive Service Corps, and in Front Royal in the development of the Greenway.

Jim was born in Trumansburg, N.Y., and was a graduate of Cornell University. He was a self-taught French speaker and piano player. He enjoyed singing, playing bridge in the Holiday Bridge Club of Front Royal.

He was a Front Royal/Warren County Tree Steward. Jim had an adventurous spirit which took him bicycling around Europe and the U. S. eastern seaboard.

He is survived by his wife, Emily G. Huttar; his son, Shaun Michael Huttar of California; his daughter, Caylin Huttar and husband Fletcher Brock of California; his brother, John Huttar of Strasburg; and his sister, Carole Grove of Saquoit, N.Y. Jim was preceded in death by his daughter, Tamarin Martin.

Jane B. Sinclair


Jane Anne Bellach Sinclair, 79, of Front Royal, formerly of Staten Island, N.Y., passed away on Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, in the Lynn Care Center in Front Royal.

Services will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Sinclair was born on Nov. 1, 1936, on Staten Island, daughter of the late Robert Bellach and Jane Catherine Ehring Bellach.

She worked many years as a waitress.

Surviving are three daughters Jane Murray of Front Royal, Wendy Killen of New York City, and Rose Bailey of Woodbridge; one son, Teddy Quevedo of Fairfax; one stepdaughter Gail Jaume of Brandy Station; one brother, Robert Bellach of Staten Island; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Sinclair was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Sinclair; one brother, Edward Bellach; and one sister, Letisha Porter.

Richard D. Straw


Richard Dale Straw, 93, of Front Royal, died on Tuesday, Feb.9, 2016.

Services will be private.

Mr. Straw was born Oct. 24, 1922, in Akron, Ohio, son of the late Earl and Grace Basham Straw. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during World War II.

Surviving are three children Janet Prokay of Columbus, Ohio, Roger Straw and wife Gretchen of Front Royal, and Bruce Straw of Rockmart, Ga.; one sister Flora Jean Jenkins of Ohio; four grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was married to the late Mildred C. Slaunwhite Straw.



Sharon J. Weatherholtz


Sharon Jean Weatherholtz, 63 of Orange, formerly of Front Royal, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.

A memorial service will be conducted at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m.

Ms. Weatherholtz was born on Aug. 15, 1952, in Arlington, a daughter of Rachel Peacoe Weatherholtz and the late Ralph Weatherholtz.

She was a private duty certified nursing assistant who did home healthcare. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed bingo and was always happy to be with her grandchildren.

In addition to her mother, Ms. Weatherholtz is survived by her son, Johnny Calvin Mullins Jr. (Michelle) of Madison; her daughters Gletia Cook (Rodney) of Rapidan and Rachel Powell (Blaine) of Orange; her six brothers, three sisters, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren.
