Ronald W. Chadwell

Ronald W. "Ronnie" Chadwell, 69, of Front Royal, passed away peacefully Monday, Feb. 22, 2016, at the VA Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va., under the care of hospice.

A graveside funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Washington Masonic Cemetery, Washington, Va.

Mr. Chadwell was born Nov.26, 1946, to the late Edward W. Chadwell and Bea Corder and was a lifetime resident of this area.

He was an Army veteran, member of Giles B. Cook American Legion Post 53 since 1968 and served as caretaker for the American Legion in Front Royal for many years.

Survivors include his brother, Edward W. "Jackie" Chadwell Jr. and his wife Mary Ann Chadwell of Front Royal; stepbrother, Bud Corder of Washington, Va.; niece, Dana McCelland and her husband Jack McCelland of Madison, and aunt, Mary Burke of Sperryville.

Ruby D. Hawkins

Ruby Dellinger Hawkins, 92, of Edinburg, passed away Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, at Greenfield Senior Living in Woodstock.

The funeral service was held Monday, Feb. 22, at Christ United Church of Christ in Conicville. Pastors Tom Arner and Don Smith officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Hawkins was born Jan. 8, 1924 in Conicville, daughter of the late Mantonia Dellinger and Gertie Mumaw Dellinger. She graduated from Triplett High School in Mount Jackson in 1941 and Palmerís Business College in Woodstock in 1943.

She worked at American Viscose plant in Front Royal, Woodstock Coat Manufacturing, Bowman Apple Products for 20 years and retired from Woodstock Aileen Inc. after 22 years in 1995.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Hawkins Sr., who passed away on June 8, 1973, at the age of 48; sister, Goldie Tisinger; and three brothers, Marvin T. Dellinger, Clyde E. Dellinger and Marshall Dellinger, who was killed in World War II.

Ruby is survived by her sons and daughter, Robert D. Hawkins Jr. and wife, Rosa, of Winchester, Brenda H. Hiner and husband, Douglas, of Mount Sidney, and Donald E. Dellinger and wife, Linda, of Edinburg; sister Shirley Leake of Woodstock; foster brother Wayne Wetzel and wife, Helen, of Woodstock; seven grandchildren, Darcy Dellinger and wife, Melissa, Denise Dellinger and husband, Timothy, Travis Dellinger and wife, Rania, Natalie R. Hiner, Valeria A. Hiner, Nicole H. Phenneger and Jenna M. Hawkins; five great-grandchildren, Brice Dellinger, Phoenix Dellinger, Dalton Robinson, Ethan Dellinger and Forrest Dellinger; and several nieces and nephews.

Ludwig J. Indiero

Ludwig James "Jim" Indiero, 69, of Frederick County, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, at the Winchester Medical Center.

Jim was born in 1946 in Newark, N.J., the son of the late Joseph and Florence (Russo) Indiero.

He worked in retail management, employed for many years with the Riverton Corp.

Known to many as Jim, James, Poppy and Popparay, he was a devoted and loving husband for more than 50 years. He was a compassionate father, grandfather and friend to many. He will be forever remembered for his love of family, relaxing outside on his favorite bench and watching television.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Indiero married Vivian Pudder on Dec. 18, 1965 in Lakewood, N.J.

Surviving with his beloved wife are three daughters, Michele Shannon and her husband Michael of Winchester, Angela Westfall and her husband Eric of Stephenson, and Kristy Williams and her husband Donnie of Winchester; two sons, Victor Indiero of Strasburg and James M. Indiero of Winchester; his 12 grandchildren, Jeremy, Tyler, Anthony, Brittney, Heather, Morgan, Matthew, Damien, Hailey, Dominic, Berkley and Gage; three great-grandchildren, Evan, Eli and Maddox; and his brother, Joseph Indiero, as well as many extended family members and close friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Victor and Enrico Indiero.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at the Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel, Winchester. Interment with follow at Shenandoah Memorial Park.

Annie W. Walters

Annie Virginia Mahoney Williams Walters, 84, of Browntown, passed away Monday, Feb.22, 2016, in the Lynn Care Center, surrounded by her loving family.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26, at Maddox Funeral Home with Dr. Michael Normoyle. Interment will follow in the Panorama Memorial Gardens at Waterlick.

Mrs. Walters was born on June 21, 1931, in Rappahannock County, daughter of the late Noah Harrison Mahoney and Florence Virginia Johnson Mahoney. She retired after many years from Old Virginia Packing.

Mrs. Walters was preceded in death by her first husband, Noah Samuel Williams, and her second husband, Lonzy Lee Walters; two children, John Lee Walters Sr. and Mary Helen Williams; two grandchildren, Christopher Walters and Tabitha Mahoney; seven brothers, George, Edward, John, Marshall, Charles, Walter and Noah Mahoney; and one sister Mary Anna North.

Surviving are her son Arnold D. Williams and his wife Delores of Bentonville; her daughter Brucie ìPeanutî Jenkins and her husband Bobby of Browntown; her brother James R. Mahoney of Chester Gap; her sister Elizabeth Riley of Strasburg; two sisters-in-law, Helen Foster of Chester Gap and Geraldine Mahoney of Bentonville; eight grandchildren, Vicky, Missy, Tanya, Randy, Shelly, Stephanie, Amanda and John Jr.; 17 great-grandchildren; Ashley, Jeffrey, Justin, Zachary, Jeremy, Robin, Toby, Gillian, Caleb, Haley, Angel, Trent, Caleb, Landen, Chris, Grace and Graycie; one great-great-granddaughter, Madilyn Rose; Junior Foster of Harrisonburg who thought of her as a second mother; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Randy Walters, Glenn Mahoney, Rob Dowler, Jesse Harmon, Walter Mahoney Jr. and Richie Mahoney.

Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The family invites all to the Chester Gap Fire Hall for a time of food and fellowship after the service.
