Joshua B. deButts

Joshua Beau deButts, 37, of Inwood, W.Va., died Saturday, June 25, 2016 in Inwood.

Josh was born May 13, 1979, in Purcellville, the son of James Moreland deButts and Sunshine Rupel McWhinney.

He was a graduate of Clarke County High School, Class of 1997.

From 1998 to 2008, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps and the Army Reserves, which called him to serve in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

He was an estimator at L.B. Water Co. in Frederick, Md.

Surviving with his wife, Heather Carper deButts, are a son, John Walker deButts, at home; his mother, Sunny and stepfather, Gerard McWhinney, of Front Royal; his father, Jimmy deButts and stepmother, Rosemary, of Purcellville; paternal grandmother, Catherine Lowry of Leesburg; two brothers, Eric Mail of Winchester and Graham Hurtt of Ballston Spa, N.Y.; six sisters, Ariele Champion of Boston, Katie deButts of Durango, Colo., Rose deButts of Big Sky, Mont., Rebekah deButts of Leesburg; Ruth deButts of Hillsboro, and Gillian Hurtt of Purcellville; three nephews, Gabriel deButts of Leesburg, Nicholas Mail of Roanoke, and Colby Roll of Inwood; his in-laws, John and Sheila Carper of Stephenson; and sister-in-law, Brittany Carper of Inwood.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 1, at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home Chapel, Berryville, with the Rev. David Drinkard officiating. Burial followed at Hillsboro Cemetery, Hillsboro, with military honors provided by the Clarke County Honor Guard.

William J. Garrich

William Joseph Garrich, 83, of Front Royal, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2016, in the Winchester Medical Center.

The family will received friends Wednesday evening at Maddox Funeral Home.

Mr. Garrich was born on March 2, 1933, in Stuttgard, Ark., son of the late Andrew Joseph Garrich and Julia Rose Papan Garrich. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War and retired as an architect from the U.S. government.

Surviving are three sons, Joseph Garrich, Andrew Garrich and Thomas Garrich; and six granddaughters, Michelle, Heather, Therese, Jenna, Allison and Monica.

Arrangements are being handled by Maddox Funeral Home, Front Royal.

John L. Harmon

John Leonard Harmon, 83, of Front Royal, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2016, at Heritage Hall Nursing Home.

A memorial gathering was held Tuesday, June 21, at Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home. All other services were private.

Mr. Harmon was born in Tazewell on Aug. 3, 1932, a son of the late Charlie and Kate Blanch Jones Harmon. He worked for the Town of Front Royal in road maintenance, Warren County Parks and Recreation and as a security guard at the Avtex clean-up site. He had been active in the Eagles and enjoyed the Warren County Senior Center.

Mr. Harmon is survived by his wife, Joyce Harmon; his sons, Steve Harmon of California, Tom Gaile and wife Robin of Front Royal, and Robert Gavin of Front Royal; his daughters, Crissy Shamblin of Ohio and Patricia Koon and husband Steve of Ohio; his 12 granddaughters; and his four great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Harmon was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Harmon.

Ronald Travis

Ronald Travis was born Dec. 5, 1949, and was called home to be with the Lord on June 29, 2016.

Ronald was the son of the late Barbara Holly and Herbert Travis.

Ronald Travis was well-known by his nick name ìShagî. He was born and lived in Front Royal all his life. He worked at Costco for more than 25 years. He was a very dedicated employee and earned the name of "Mr. Costco," the unofficial face of Costco. Shag was a friendly person and loved greeting people and putting smiley faces on the receipts. He loved his job, co-workers and interacting with customers. He never missed a day from work and wouldnít think of ever being late.

He is survived by the love of his life Rosetta Jordan; two sons, Ronald Jordan (Kim) of Winchester and Waverly Jordan (Lucinda) of Front Royal; two brothers, Robert Travis (Wannetta) of Harrisburg, Pa.; three sisters, Deborah Jones of Baltimore, Lockett Franklin of Richmond and Lynn Simms of Cumberland, Md.; three grandchildren, Stephan Jordan and Antoine Jordan of Washington, D.C., and Abigail Jordan of Franklin, Ill.; great-granddaughter Aubrei Jordan of Franklin, Ill., and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and many, many friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Warren Travis (Cynthia) of Annapolis, Md.
