Timmy Barnett

Timmy Barnett, 52, of Front Royal, passed away on Friday, Aug. 5, 2016, in Winchester.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 10, at Front Royal Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Steve Guizar officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Luray.

Mr. Barnett was born Aug. 25, 1963, in Richlands, to Ron Keith Barnett and Madie Logean Ward Barnett.

Tim was a loving husband, father and Pawpaw. He worked as a blaster for Capital Drilling Inc., completing site development and was a member of Front Royal Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Regina Barnett; two daughters, Laura and Raegan Barnett; two sons, Joshua Barnett and Drew Saffelle and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Dye, Shane Heater, Earl Stanley, Larry Reil, Shawn Mullins and James Warnick.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Men of the Front Royal Church of the Nazarene.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Front Royal Church of the Nazarene, 1107 Monroe Ave., Front Royal, VA 22630.

Wendy M. Dodson

Wendy Marie Dodson, 38, of Bentonville, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016, in her home.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Maddox Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Marc Roberson. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ms. Dodson was born Aug. 16, 1977, in Front Royal, daughter of Roger Allen Dodson (Susan) of Front Royal and Rosemary Grace Davner (Tom) of Winchester.

Surviving with her parents are her fiancÈ Roger L. ìPeanutî Andrews Jr. of Bentonville; son Kristian Allen Andrews of Bentonville; sister Crystal L. Dodson of Ranson, W.Va.; and a number of aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister Jennifer ìJennyî Leigh Dodson; her paternal grandparents Betty Lou and William Dodson; and her maternal grandparents John D. and Nina W. Cash.

Pallbearers will be Jason Mahoney, Tommy Mahoney, Harry Edward Andrews Jr., Harry Edward Andrews III, Clarence Waddell and Charles Weary Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Stanley and Frank Atkins.

Wendy loved to cook and was a caretaker to many in her family. She had a heart of gold.

The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors, and staff of Warren Memorial Hospital emergency room, the University of Virginia medical Center and Nancy Brubaker of Luray.

Melvin M. Gardiol

Melvin Maurice Gardiol, of Front Royal, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016, at Shenandoah Senior Living in Front Royal.

Born on Aug. 30, 1913, he would have been 103 years old on his coming birthday.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Maddox Funeral Home, conducted by Samuel L. Campbell. Burial with military honors will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.

Mr. Gardiol was born in Baltimore, son of Richard Joseph Gardiol Jr. and Anna Belle Bower Gardiol. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 59 years, Ellen Ann Furry Gardiol; and two brothers, Pierre Gardiol and Richard J. Gardiol III.

Mr. Gardiol was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and served with the 515th Army Postal Unit in England and France during the war, attaining the rank of sergeant. After the war, he was a mail carrier and later served for many years as a clerk for the Front Royal post office. He retired after 41 years of service with the U.S. Postal Service.

Mr. Gardiol was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a life member of the Front Royal Fire Department.

Surviving are a daughter, Melanie Gardiol Pello of Wyndmoor, Pa., her husband Matt and two granddaughters Maura and Mariel Pello.

Ruth M. Good

Ruth Myra Good, 78, of Luray, passed away on Friday, Aug. 5, 2016, at Avante Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Harrisonburg.

Mrs. Good was born in Luray on Nov. 25, 1937, and was the daughter of Fred A. and Betty J. Henry.

She worked at Luray Caverns and at Kmart in Front Royal for many years before retiring.

Mrs. Good leaves behind a husband, John Good; a daughter, Vickie Winegord; and a grandson, Scott Winegord.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Amos, Warren, Paul and Harold Henry, and a sister, Eva Mae Bywaters.

Burial will be private at Mount Zion Church in Luray.

Evelyn Jordan

Evelyn Jordan departed this earth on Aug. 4, 2016.

Evelyn was the daughter of Mary Virginia Roberts.

Evelyn was preceded in death by mother; her brothers, William (June) Roberts, Jr., and Roger Roberts Sr. Evelyn lived in Flint Hill until her adult life. More than 60 years ago she made her home in Harrisburg, Pa.

Evelyn's hobbies were reading and listening to the music of her generation. Whenever she talked about the Lord, she would say "Thank you, my heavenly Father."

Evelyn departed this life at the Colonial Park Care Center in Harrisburg. She spent her final year in friendly acquaintance with the staff and residents there. They enjoyed her joyful smile and laughter.

She leaves to share her precious memories a caring niece, Cheryl Jordan; devoted cousins, Arthur Jackson and Melvin Jordan; sister-in-law Louise Pendleton; nieces, Gwendolyn Sheppard, Frances Taulton, Regina Williams, Mary Washington and Cheryl King; nephews, Roger Roberts Jr., Keith Roberts and Jonathan Roberts; and a host of cousins.

Carolyn H. Kinsey

Carolyn Huff Kinsey, 62, of Front Royal, passed away Monday, Aug. 8, 2016, in Franklin, W.Va..

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12, at Maddox Funeral Home, conducted by Sammy Campbell. Interment will follow in the Prospect Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Kinsey was born on Oct. 16, 1953, in Front Royal, daughter of Frank Brown Huff and Catherine Mamie Lillard Huff.

She graduated from the Rappahannock County High School and was employed with the White Post Correctional Facility for many years.

Surviving are her devoted husband Richard Kinsey; three sons, Keith Kinsey and wife Theresa of Midland, Kevin Kinsey and fiancÈe Katie of Stephens City, and Scott Kinsey of Front Royal; one brother, Frank
Huff and his wife Sherry of Flint Hill; one sister, Connie Harris of Flint Hill; three grandchildren, Logan Lockhart, Evan Kinsey and Braiden Kinsey.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

There will be a time of food and fellowship after the service on Friday, at the Giles B. Cook Post 53 of the American Legion, 22 W. 8th St., Front Royal.

Rudolph J. Morneault

Rudolph "Rudy" "Frenchie" Joseph Morneault, 82, of Stanley, and formerly of Front Royal, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016, at Inova Fairfax Hospital.

Services will be private.

Mr. Morneault was born on Nov. 2, 1933, in Upper Frenchville, Maine, son of Josephel Morneault and Delia Dufour Morneault.

He served his country proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1952 to 1956. He was a corporal during the Korean War and later made the rank of sergeant. He remained in Virginia after leaving the Marine Corps.

Mr. Morneault owned and operated Morneaultís Plumbing in Front Royal until his retirement. He was a member of the Marine Corps League, Toys for Tots, and the VFW Post 1860 in Front Royal.

Surviving are his loving and devoted wife Alice Ridgeway Morneault; son Ralph Ridgeway of Middletown; three daughters, Faith Smith of Raleigh, N.C., Hope Clegg of Front Royal and Charity Ridgeway of Middletown; 23 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Morneault was preceded in death by his parents; sister Priscilla Morneault; and six brothers, Joseph, Robert, John, Wilbrod, Rosaire, and Adrien.

Susan A. Sayers

Susan Ann Sayers, 63, of Linden, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.

A memorial service was conducted Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016, at Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home, Front Royal, with the Rev. Harold Brown officiating.

Mrs. Sayers was born in Fairfax on July 14, 1953, a daughter of Dewey Webster and Barbara Esther Steele Seal.

She was a homemaker who loved her children and family. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, and music — especially oldies, folk, and gospel. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Thomas F. Sayers; her stepfather, Cecil Shelton; her son, Thomas Sayers Jr.(Alice) of Austin, Texas; her daughters, Stephannie Hansford (Robert) of Richmond, Allison Wieber (Erich) of Moseley, and Jessica Sayers (Wyatt Vaught) of Front Royal; her brother, Rocke Shelton (Cathy) of Warrenton; her sisters, Christine Berkebile of Fairfax, and Leslie Stewart (Chris) of Leesburg; and her grandchildren, David, Abby, Nathan, Lucy, Wyatt and Dylan.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sayers was preceded in death by her sister, Judith Rue.
