Neva Y. Fletcher
Neva Yates Fletcher, 94, of Stephens City, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017.
Mrs. Fletcher was born April 11, 1922 in Stephens City, daughter of Walter S. Yates and Vertie Marshall Yates.
She married Gary Leo Fletcher on Dec. 26, 1953. Surviving with her husband are a daughter, Melinda Clark of Stephens City; five sons, Delbert Fletcher of Middletown, Danny Fletcher of Stephens City, Shane Fletcher of Locust Grove, Scott Fletcher of Stephens City and David Fletcher of Stephens City; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Her parents and sisters Leona Welsh, Evelyn Conner, Aleatha Carper and Iva Hibbard preceded her in death.
A funeral service was held Saturday, Feb. 11, at Salem Church of the Brethren, Stephens City, with the Revs. Clarence Moyers and Rick Looman officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Lee C. Lamoreux
Lee C. Lamoreux, 81, of Stephens City, passed away Feb. 11, 2017.
Lee was born Sept. 5, 1935, in Shavertown, Pa., son of Earl and Thelma Carr Lamoreux.
Lee is survived by his wife, Joyce Lamoreux, and his son, Dr. Jon Lamoreux of Wales, Mass.
Lee will be cremated at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home in Berryville, then interred at noon April 8 at his family grave site at Mount Greenwood Cemetery, Trucksville, Pa., next to his most beloved grandfather.

Joyce T. Moore
Joyce Marie Toombs Moore, 67, of Warren County, passed away at her home on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017.
Mrs. Moore was born June 25, 1949, in Arlington, daughter of Mrs. Sally Carter Toombs of Maryland and the late Amos Toombs.
Surviving are her husband, John H. Moore; four daughters, Kimber Shaffer, Kristy Smallwood, Jaimie Smallwood and Melinda Smallwood; two stepsons, Aaron Moore and Ryan Moore; twin sister, Joanne Depoy; sister, Amy Toombs; brothers, Robert "Bobby" Toombs and Don Toombs; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her special dog companion, Pahko.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, at Maddox Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service conducted by Sammy Campbell.

James E. Oliver
James Everette "Jim" Oliver of Strasburg died unexpectedly Feb. 6, 2017, at his home.
Jim was born to John Princewood Oliver Jr. (deceased) and Margaret James Oliver on Dec. 12, 1952, in Lynchburg.
Jim is survived by his mother of Richmond; his son, Jared Wesley Oliver of Erie, Pa.; stepdaughter Katie Ritenour of Winchester; five grandchildren; his siblings, John Oliver of Long Beach, Miss., Rozanne Oliver of Charlottesville, and Arlene Stetson of Massanutten; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering took place Saturday, Feb. 11, at Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home, Front Royal.

Shelby W. Polk
Shelby Jean Walters Polk, 79, of Front Royal, passed away Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017.
Shelby was born on July 4, 1937, in Front Royal, daughter of the late Floyd Lee Walters and Ida Marie
Shelby was married to William Elwood ìWoodyî Polk, who preceded her in death in November.
Surviving are three sons, Jeff Polk, William Polk Jr., and Richard Polk; two brothers, the Rev. Paul Walters and Floyd L. Walters Jr.; three sisters, Charlotte Mae Lightner, Doris W. Meade and Mildred M. Langhorne; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at Maddox Funeral Home with Pastor Butch Hammond. Interment will follow in the Marshall Cemetery in Marshall, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Billy L. Smeltzer
Billy Lewis Smeltzer, 80, of Front Royal, passed away Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017.
Mr. Smeltzer was born July 6, 1936, in Browntown, to Edward Lewis Smelser and Elizabeth G. Andrews Smelser.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce G. Smeltzer; two sons, Mark L. Smeltzer of Front Royal and Troy S. Smeltzer of Stephens City, Virginia and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Ray B. Smelser.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, Feb. 15, at Prospect Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Brown officiating.
Arrangements were handled by Maddox Funeral Home, Front Royal.
Charles I. Trussell
Charles Iden Trussell, 69, of White Post, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017.
Mr. Trussell was born June 1, 1947, in Clarke County, son of Harvey Tennyson Trussell and Ada Virginia Bolden Trussell.
He married Delores Jane Hillyard Trussell on April 18, 1970, in Stephens City. She died March 26, 2010.
Surviving are a daughter, Samantha Trussell, and granddaughter, both of Strasburg; three sisters, Elva Albright, Susie Hartsock and Stella Mae Richards; and two brothers, Gene and Carroll Trussell.
His brothers, Harvey, James and Leonard Trussell and sisters, Thessie Bell and June Poston, all preceded him in death.
The family received friends Wednesday, Feb. 15, at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home, Stephens City. Burial was private.

Judith Ann M. Wagner
Judith Ann McGinty Wagner, 77, of Warren County, passed away on Friday, Feb. 10, 2017.
Mrs. Wagner was born Sept. 20, 1939, in Franklin, Pa., daughter of Joseph P. McGinty and Myrtle Dittman McGinty.
Surviving are her husband, Michael Arden Wagner; four children, Stephanie Marotta of Fletcher, N.C., David Wagner of St. Peters, Mo., Jeffrey Wagner of Coppell, Texas, and Timothy Wagner of McKinney, Texas; one sister, Maureen Phelan of Newtown Square, Pa.; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Joseph Patrick McGinty.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday, Feb. 14, at at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Front Royal, conducted by the Rev. Jerome Fasano. Burial was private in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Winchester.

Mrs. LaMerle "Nannie" Williams, 94, of Chester Gap, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017.
Mrs. Williams was born Oct. 7, 1922 in Griffin, Ga., to James N. Bolt and Nannie Lou Betts Bolt.
Survivors include three sons, Brad Williams, Robert "Bobby" Williams and Jerry M. Williams; daughter Carolyn J. Leake; eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband William Bradley Williams and brothers, Bill and James Bolt.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 11, at Maddox Funeral Home, Front Royal, with the Revs. Jim Williams and James Burke officiating. Burial followed in the Williams Family Cemetery, Chester Gap.
