Thurman B. Brady Jr.

Thurman Brient Brady Jr., 80, of Front Royal, passed away Thursday morning, March 9, 2017.

Born March 31, 1936 in Bluefield, he was the son of Thurman Brient Brady Sr. and Delois Afton Burge Brady.

Thurman was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley Faye Bolton Brady and brother, James Brady.

He is survived by his five children, Tony Brady of Front Royal, Pam Ferrara of Purcellville, Kim White of Gerrardstown, W.Va., Josie Carlson of Winchester, and Michelle Black of Front Royal; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Scholenberger; and many nieces nephews and loved ones.

A service was held Sunday, March 12, at Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home, Front Royal.

Betty A. Ellis

Betty Burke Arbogast Ellis, 80, of Toms Brook, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, at her residence.

She was born in Strasburg, on Aug. 31, 1936, a daughter of John Robert and Vesta Virginia Rinker Burke.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Donald A. Arbogast Sr.; second husband Donald Frank Ellis; grandson Brian W. Arbogast; and siblings, John A. Burke, Orville Racey and John Robert Burke Jr.

Survivors include her children, Donald A. (Jane) Arbogast Jr. of Slanesville, W.Va., Mark W. Arbogast of Toms Brook, David Lee (Terri) Arbogast of Toms Brook, Christine H. (Richard) Arbogast Stickles of Toms Brook and Sarah ìSallyî Ellis Donovan of Stafford; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; and one sister, Vanessa Burke of Strasburg.

A graveside service was conducted Friday, March 3, in Bennettís Chapel Cemetery, Front Royal.

Memorials may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork St., Winchester, VA 22601.

Arrangements were handled by Stover Funeral Home, Strasburg.

Paul G. Eves

Paul Garland Eves, 80, of Strasburg and formerly of Winchester, passed away March 9, 2017, at Greenfield Reflections Assisted Living.

A funeral was held Wednesday at Phelps Funeral Chapel, Winchester. Burial was in Shenandoah Memorial Park.

Arrangements were handled by Phelps Funeral and Cremation Services.

Hazel F. Hisey

Hazel Funk Hisey, 88, of Front Royal, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2017.

Mrs. Hisey was born in Woodstock on April 5, 1928, a daughter of Oliver Milton and Florence Virginia Fogle Funk.

Mrs. Hisey is survived by her son, Eugene Henry Hisey Jr. of Front Royal; her sisters, Virginia Henderson of Fort Valley, Muriel Martin of Front Royal, Nina Epard of Woodstock, Sandra Shirkey of Woodstock, Madelyn Crim of Tennessee and Vera Indermuehle of Morena, Calif.; and a granddaughter.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hisey was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Henry Hisey Sr.; her brothers, Oliver Madison Funk and Carroll Funk; her sisters, Maxine Dorothy Heishman and Charlotte Chellini; and a grandson.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home, 1200 N. Shenandoah Ave.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the Marlow Heights Baptist Church, Front Royal, with the Rev. James Bunce officiating. Burial will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens.

Larry L. Perry

Larry Lee Perry, 69, of Luray and formerly of Front Royal, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2017.

Mr. Perry was born on March 25, 1947 in Hico, W.Va., son of Malcolm Lawrence Perry and Naomi Mauve Wilmoth Perry.

Surviving are one son, Daniel L. Perry of Front Royal; three daughters, Kimberly Willitts of Springfield, W.Va., Pamela Perry of Inwood, W.Va., and Sherri Franklin of Inman, S.C.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many brothers, sisters, and family members.

Services will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the family c/o Maddox Funeral Home, 105 W. Main St., Front Royal, VA 22630.

William Sine

William "Bill" Sine, 87, of Front Royal, passed away Friday, March 10, 2017.

Bill was born on July 7, 1929, in Columbia Furnace, to Raymond Sine and Sarah Edith Estep Sine. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Anna Mae "Sis" Sine; daughter Jackie Sine Everiss; stepson Roy Franklin Owens; and two brothers, Wayne and Cecil Sine.

Survivors include his daughter Beverly Boyce; stepson James Brinklow; stepdaughter Katherine Foster; brother Edward Sine; sister Audrey Sine Fravel; four grandchildren and two great granddaughters.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 W. Main St., with the Rev. Seth Alcorn officiating. Burial followed in Shenandoah Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Charles I. Trussell

Charles Iden Trussell, 69, of White Post, passed away Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, at the Winchester Medical Center.

He was born June 1, 1947, in Clarke County, a son of Harvey Tennyson Trussell and Ada Virginia Bolden Trussell.

He married Delores Jane Hillyard Trussell on April 18, 1970, in Stephens City. She passed away March 26, 2010.

Surviving are his daughter Samantha Trussell and granddaughter, both of Strasburg; three sisters, Elva Albright, Susie Hartsock and Stella Mae Richards; and two brothers, Gene and Carroll Trussell.

His brothers, Harvey, James and Leonard Trussell; and sisters, Thessie Bell and June Poston, all preceded him in death.

The family received friends Wednesday, Feb. 15, at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home in Stephens City. Burial was private.

Patrick W. Younk

Patrick William "Mr. Pat" Younk, 63, of Front Royal, died Tuesday, March 7, 2017.

Pat was born March 15, 1953, in Saginaw, Mich., son of Patricia Warren Younk of Michigan and William Jacob Younk.

Surviving, along with his mother, are his wife, Ruth White Younk of Front Royal; his stepdaughter, Catie Noel; four grandchildren, all of Linden; and one brother, Greg Younk of Stanford, Mich.

His father preceded him in death.

A funeral service was held Monday, March 13, at Front Royal Presbyterian Church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. C. Thomas Rhyne and the Rev. Rachel Crumley. Burial followed in Panorama

Memorial Gardens. A reception was held at the church fellowship hall immediately after the burial.
