Michael E. Berry


Michael Dennis Edward Berry, 66, was born in the District of Columbia on Jan. 13, 1951 and passed away on April 13, 2017.

He is survived by his loving wife Karen; six children, Michael Kerns, Paul Berry, Stacey Berry, Tina McFall, Ellie Berry and Jon Berry and their spouses; as well as 14 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 W. Main St., Front Royal, with a committal service following in Shenandoah Memorial Park.



Gordon B. Lee


Gordon Briscoe Lee, 93, formerly of Front Royal, passed away on April 11, 2017.

Mr. Lee was born on Feb. 14, 1924, in Mitchells, and raised in Fauquier County.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Lee; son Robert G. Lee of Chester Gap; daughter Cynthia Davies of Dumfries; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, April 18, at Baker-Post Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Manassas. Interment immediately followed in Stonewall Memory Gardens in Manassas.

The family requests that any memorial donations be made to Front Royal United Methodist Church, 1 W. Main St., Front Royal, VA 22630.



Nita V. Pezalla


Nita V. Pezalla, 83, of Front Royal, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017.

She was born July 26, 1933, in Tulsa, Okla., to C.G. Coleman and Alice Tharp Coleman.

Survivors include her children Darrick, Candyce, Tenyce, Patricia and Sherryl ìBlue Eyesî; stepdaughters Karen and Sharon; brother Don; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James Pezalla; daughter Sandra; and brother Arnold.

Services will be held at a later date in California.



Rose P. Randolph


Rose Marie Philomena Randolph, 19, of Front Royal, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017 in Centreville.

Rose was born on Jan. 6, 1998, in Fairfax, daughter of Michael Joseph Randolph and Laura Marie Weber Randolph of Front Royal.

Surviving with her parents are her paternal grandparents, Joseph L. Randolph of Homer, Alaska, and Bernadette Baylor of Arnold, Md.; two sisters, Bridget Randolph of New York City and Veronica Khune of Montgomery, Ala.; and two brothers, Max Randolph of Centreville and Nathanael Randolph of Front Royal.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday, April 18, at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, with The Rev. Kevin Beres officiating. Interment followed in St. Peter's Cemetery, Washington, Va.

Memorial contributions may be made for Masses to be said for Rose.

Arrangements were handled by Maddox Funeral Home, Front Royal.



Mildred Zollman


Mildred Zollman, 87, passed away Friday, April 14, 2017.

She was born in Bentonville on April 16, 1929, the daughter of Virgil E. and Clarice S. Lentz.

Mildred married Nelson Zollman in Bentonville on Nov. 7, 1947.

She is survived by two daughters, Anita Mills of Winchester and Nancy Ewankov of Stephens City, as well as two grandchildren, both of Winchester. Her sister, Olive Plauger of Tennessee also survives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and three brothers, Raymond Lentz, Robert Lentz and Kenneth Lentz.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, April 18th at Maddox Funeral Home, Front Royal. Burial followed in the Bentonville Baptist Cemetery.
