Brian N. Chapman


Brian Neal Chapman, 45, of Culpeper, passed away June 16, 2017.

Brian was born May 10, 1972, in Winchester, to Douglas and Nancy Chapman of Stephens City. Both his parents survive him.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 25, at Marlow Heights Baptist Church, 517 Braxton Road. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

Arrangements are being handled by Maddox Funeral Home, Front Royal.



Mildred E. Griffith


Mildred Elmira Griffith, 88, of Front Royal, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017.

Mrs. Griffith was born Aug. 1, 1928, in Page County, daughter of the late Hubert H. Manuel and Maudie Bell Baker Manuel. She was the wife of the late Kenneth J. Griffith.

Surviving are her children, Ray Griffith, Sandy Strickler and Donna Evans, all of Front Royal; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Saturday, June 17, at Maddox Funeral Home, front Royal. Burial was private.

Sherry K. Richardson


Sherry Leigh Kump Richardson, 61, of Strasburg, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017.

Mrs. Richardson was born in Germany on Aug. 6, 1955, a daughter of the late Lester Vernon Kump and Betty Lou Sager Sayers.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Ray Richardson of Strasburg; her children, Claudia S. Brill of Strasburg, Sabrina Leigh Brill of Winchester, Wendy G. Funkhouser of Strasburg, Jennifer Caricofe and David Richardson, both of Toms Brook and Stefanie Hamm of Florence, Ala.; 21 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her siblings, Jeff Kump of Cross Junction, Pam Hanes, Wendy Rohr and Paula Carver, all of West Virginia and Matt Sunderlin of Harrisonburg; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Mrs. Richardson will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 24, at the Stover Memorial Chapel, 177 N. Holliday St., Strasburg, with Pastor Tony Allen Bates officiating. Burial will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Stover Funeral Home.



Luella E. Sager


Luella Estep Sager, 82, of Strasburg, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017.

Mrs. Sager was born in Mount Jackson, on March 1, 1935, a daughter of Charles William and Amanda Irene Foltz Estep. She was the wife of Jerry Ray Sager.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Sager and siblings Bobby Estep and Nancy Amanda Estep.

Survivors include her children, Ronald R. Sager of Strasburg and Denise I. Sager Gochenour of Star Tannery; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and her brother Ricky Estep.

A funeral service for Mrs. Sager was conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 18, at St. Matthews Lutheran Church with the Revs. Heidi David-Young and Keith Warren officiating. Burial followed in Sunset View Memorial Gardens, Woodstock.

Mack A. Stinson


Mack Allen ìAlî Stinson, 48, of Front Royal, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017.

Al was born March 4, 1969, in Prince Georges County, Md., to Christine M. Stroth Stinson.

Survivors include his mother, Christine Stinson; stepfather Vito Pignataro; significant other June E. Morgan; son Mack Allen Stinson Jr.; stepdaughter Jessica Brown; brother Guy E. Plaster Jr.; three grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister Becky Lynn Little.

Services will be held privately by the family.

Arrangements were handled by Maddox Funeral Home, Front Royal.
