Virginia Ruth Beavers
Virginia Ruth Beavers, 69, of Front Royal, Va., died Tuesday, Oct.2, at her home.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, Oct. 8, at 11 a.m. at the Buckton Presbyterian Church
with Pastor James Boyette, officiating.
Mrs. Beavers was born April 5, 1943, in Bell Camp, Md., daughter of Jessie L. and Myrtle Annie Eller Barnes. She worked for Northern Virginia Community College as an administrative assistant.
Surviving are her husband of thirty-one years, Vernon Lee Beavers; four daughters, Deborah Jean Herrick, Michele Lynn Munden, Teresa Ann Barco, Marcia Lynn Zimmerman; seven grandchildren, Scott John Herrick, Crystal Anne Hazzard, Kristine Nicole Herrick, Travis Lee Zimmerman, Nathan Kania, Christopher James Munden, and Andrew Christopher Kania; two great-grandchildren, Trevor Charles Herrick, and Aubrey Taylor Chajka; one sister, Elizabeth Haines, of Wilmington, N.C.; and two brothers , James Barnes of Fort Washington, Md., and Larry Barnes of Rileyville, Va..
The family will receive friends on Monday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the church.

22630 or to the Buckton Presbyterian Church, 2315 Strasburg Road, Front Royal, VA 22630.

Oscar H. Clark, Jr.
Oscar H. Clark, Jr., 80, of Front Royal, Va., died on Thursday, September 20, 2012, at Blue Ridge
Hospice Residential Center in Winchester, Va.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 23, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home
conducted by Rev. Jim Bunce. Burial followed in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Clark was born August 20, 1932, in Parkersburg, W.Va., son of the late Oscar H. Clark, Sr. and
Hazel Bosworth Clark. He was a graduate of Warren County High School Class of 1951. Mr. Clark
was a U.S. Air Force veteran and served his country as a communication specialist from December
1952 to December 1956. He spent eighteen months of his service in Germany. He retired as sales manager for Heckman Bindery where he was affectionately known as “Big O” and he also worked for several other local businesses including Jack EvansChevrolet, and The Southerlands. Mr. Clark was a
member of Marlow Heights Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife Louise Kress Clark of Front Royal; two children Ron Clark and wife
Ginny of Glen Allen, Va. and Kelly Clark Wilson and husband Chris of Richmond, Va.; one brother
Thomas C. Clark of Front Royal; one sister Joyce Clark Davis and husband Sterling of Front Royal;
one grandson Nathan Clark and wife Jessica; and one granddaughter Elyse Clark.
Pallbearers were Nathan Clark, Michael Graf, Danny Rinker, Sean Marchi, Mark Lalumondiere,
and Brian Rathman.
Special honorary pallbearer were a brother-inlaw Bryan Kress.
The family received friends on Saturday, September 22, 2012, from 7-9 p.m. at Maddox Funeral

Nellie Virginia Vaughn Grove
Nellie Virginia Vaughn Grove, 89, of Front Royal, died on Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at Amerisist in Front Royal.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, Oct.5, at 11 a.m. at Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Grove was born Aug. 30, 1923, in Luray, daughter of the late Jack and Addie N. Miller Vaughn. She was a cafeteria aide for Warren County Public Schools for 24 years and also worked for the Front Royal Moose Lodge as a server for many years. She was a member of Front Royal Women of the Moose Lodge #1194 and a lifelong member of Rivermont Baptist Church. She was married to the late Mateer Summer Grove, Sr.

Nellie is survived by her daughter-in-law Gwyndolyn Rae Grove of Front Royal; three grandchildren Dana Rae Hammack, Kari Elizabeth Little, and Kara Michelle Grove all of Front Royal; two great-grandchildren Trenton Michael Little and Parker Weston Hammack; two sisters Pauline Frye and Naomi Royston, both of Winchester; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, Nellie was preceded in death by her son Mateer S. Grove, Jr.; four brothers Thomas Vaughn, Jack Vaughn, Jr., Kenny Vaughn, Sr., and Charles Vaughn; and one sister Eva Brill.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, Oct. 4, from 7-9 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with a memorial service at 7 p.m. conducted by The Collegians of the Women of the Moose.

Blanche Mae "Butch" Swisher
Blanche Mae "Butch" Swisher, 57, of Front Royal, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, in the Blue Ridge Hospice Residential Center.

Mrs. Swisher was born in 1955 in Stuarts Draft, Va., the daughter of the late William H. and Gladys M. Swisher. She was Shipping Manager for Winchester Woodworking, retiring after 30 years of service. She was of the Baptist faith, and was a member of the Warrenton Moose Lodge.

Mrs. Swisher married James C. McFalls in December in Winchester, Virginia.

Surviving with her husband is a son, Charles W. Swisher of Front Royal; a grandson, Robert Emerson Swisher, also of Front Royal, and four brothers, Benjamin Swisher, William Swisher, Paul Swisher and Thomas Swisher, all of Stuarts Draft.

A funeral service will be conducted at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel. Interment will be private.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
