Obituaries — Warren County

William Alan Beatty
William Alan Beatty, 49, of Front Royal, died on Saturday, June 8, 2013.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 14, at 6p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home conducted
by Sammy Campbell.

The family will receive friends after the service until 9 p.m.

Alan was born December 31, 1963, in Front Royal, son of William I. Beatty of Front Royal and the late Mary Ruth Redmon Beatty. He previously worked for Warren County Public Schools and was currently working as an auto detailer. He was a member of the Front Royal Elks Lodge.

Surviving along with his father are three sisters Debbie Goisse and husband Chris, Kathy Carter and husband Jerry and Lorrie L. Sealock all of Front Royal; his companion of 23 years Barbara Costello of Front Royal; nieces and nephews Tim Carter, Kimberly Carter Proko, Robert Sealock, Jeffrey Sealock, and Nicholas Sealock; three greatnieces; one great-nephew; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his faithful dog Lucy Costello.

Cary Wayne Cather
Cary Wayne Cather, 71, of Front Royal, died Sunday, June 9, 2013, in the Winchester Medical Center.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, June 12 at 2 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Sammy Campbell officiating.

Interment followed in Panorama Memorial Gardens at Waterlick.

Mr. Cather was born in Front Royal, son of Hubert and Gladys Cather.

He retired from Berryville Graphics, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.

Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 51years, Juanita Cather; his loving daughter, Sherry Hudson and husband Jeff of Strasburg; four grandchildren, Jonathan Hudson, Joseph Hudson and wife Rachel, Mary Hudson, and Molly Hudson; one brother, Robert Cather of Glen Allen; and three sisters, Joanne Terry of Front Royal, Kitty Cather of Utah, and Bonnie Cather of Georgia.

Mr. Cather was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Jonah H. Hudson.

Pallbearers were Jonathan Hudson, Joseph Hudson, Cory Michael, Cody Michael, Chris Roland, and Coty Clowers.


Karen Kindall Stuart
Karen Kindall Stuart, 43, of Staunton, died Tuesday, June 11, 2013, in the University of Virginia Hospital.

A funeral service will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with The Rev. Diann Whetzel. Interment will follow in the Beahm’s Chapel Cemetery.

Karen was born Dec. 17, 1969, in Front Royal, daughter of the late Bonnie D. Foster and John W. Kindall, Jr. of Culpeper. She was married to the late Ronald James Stuart, Jr.

Surviving with her father are her step-mother Sharon Kindall; two daughters Crystal Stuart and Samantha Stuart both of Front Royal; half-sister Rhonda Baillargon of Maryland; special companion Ray Roberson and his family; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be James Kindall, Billy Stuart, Curtis Shuey, Jesse Smith, William Hail, and Bill Iames.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.



Leigh O’Connor
Leigh O’Connor, 60, of Front Royal, died Monday, June 3, 2013, at Winchester Medical Center.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 11, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal.

Mrs. O’Connor was born July 20, 1952 in Ft. Montgomery, NY, daughter of the late Gordon and Dorothy Smith. She was a groundskeeper at Blue Ridge Shadows Golf Course in Front Royal. She was an avid Washington Redskins fan and she loved the time she spent working on the golf course.

She is survived by her husband John O’Connor; two daughters Kimberly Taylor and her husband David of Inwood, WV and Elizabeth O’Connor and her companion Dave of Front Royal; a sister Christine Smith of NC; and her grand-dog Go-go and a grand-cat Lily.
